'Sick' or is it 'sique' or perhaps just 'siq'

When I was a kid and I was not feeling well, I was sick. When I saw the run over remains of a snake in the street with it's guts spewed out of its mouth, I said, 'sick!'. If I wanted a dog to attack someone I'd yell 'Sick em'. I had a pink panther cartoon book and occasionally the inspector would have a thought bubble above his head that said, 'sique sique sique'. I never knew what that meant but at the time I thought it was a french expression of disgust or frustration. Quite frankly, I still don't know what it means.

Recently I was introduced anew to the word 'SICK'. While shopping for new shoes for my daughter, the salesgirl (for she was a girl) was showing us the different shoes. Then she said, "Oh, look at these ones, they are SICK!" (with special emphasis on the word 'sick'). I looked over expecting to see the most ugly cleats known to man with an equal look of derision on my face and said something to the effect that we didn't want to see sick, ugly shoes. Their heads whipped around and looked at me as though I was speaking a foriegn language & I looked at them as if they were speaking a foriegn language, because, quite frankly for that brief moment, we were.

Imagine the horror/giggly look on my daughters face as the salesGIRL snickered and explained to me that 'sick' means 'cool'. 'Ahh', I thought. OK - I can deal with this. A new trending phrase I get to be made aware of in public with strangers. "These shoes are SICK!" Awesome. I've tried using this phrase at every opportunity it seems appropriate. I have since been informed by my daughter & her friend(s), that it is NOT sick for mom to use the word sick in their presence. I was told they would rather hear me use, not theirs, but my own generations words for cool. They gave me the example of 'groovy'. I was informed they want me to use 'groovy'. I never used 'groovy'. I know the term groovy, but hey, so do they. The Partridge Family is groovy, I am not groovy. I'll stick with awesome or cool or hot. But not groovy. Never groovy, not for me.

This is so sick. Its for you to decide what I mean.

Beautiful View

It may not be the 'best view', but it is a beautiful view. Today, it makes me happy. Today, it make me want to be outside IN the view, not inside looking out at it.

Is this really necessary?

I don't normally, no, never think a camera in a bathroom is appropriate. But this time I could not resist. WHY are there drink holders in the bathroom stall. Why why why!?!?!?

IPOD NANO REVIEW

My review of I-Pod's (any variety) is:
If you don't have one, get one.
Save your money, sell you your socks.
If you ever in your life enjoyed listening to music, you need one.
I have almost 2000 songs on mine and there is PLENTY of room for more.
It makes me happy. Yes it does.

Whatever.

"Sensitive sea life; do not touch or tap on the glass; PARENTS; please watch your children" ...If you want me to watch my children, don't give me fish to look at!

Fish at the Doctors Office

They seem like they have a sad existence. But what do they think of us as look out and see our sad sick faces sitting in ugly chairs reading useless magazines. I'd rather be a fish on those days. Thank goodness for my blackberry and ipod! Hours of mind-numbing entertainment. Woot woot!!!
